Northern Minnesota property is hard to show from the ground. A cabin is hidden in the pines, a hunting parcel runs back farther than anyone can see from the road, and a resort's best feature is the water behind it. A drone shows how the whole place fits together.

We are not based up north, and we would rather be upfront about that than hide it. We drive up for the job. For some projects a local operator will cost less, and for others our published packages still make sense even with mileage.

Do you do drone photography in northern Minnesota?

Yes. We are based in St. Cloud and travel to northern Minnesota for real estate, lake property, land, construction, business and event shoots, including Walker, Park Rapids, Bemidji, Grand Rapids and Duluth.

How much is the travel charge to northern Minnesota?

Travel is $1.25 a mile round trip, round trip, beyond 30 miles of St. Cloud. For a town about 150 miles away, that is 120 miles past the line each way, 240 miles total, or $300. Your written quote shows the exact amount before you book.

Is there a less expensive way to book a shoot up north?

If you have more than one property in the same area, send them together and we will quote them as one trip. Being flexible on the date also helps us line your shoot up with other northern work when we have it.

What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the shoot?

We check the forecast before we leave and reschedule if wind, rain or low cloud would hurt the flight. Nobody benefits from a long drive and bad photos.

Can you fly in the Boundary Waters, Voyageurs or a state park?

Not always. National parks such as Voyageurs do not allow drone takeoffs or landings, and wilderness areas, state parks and tribal lands can have their own restrictions. Tell us the exact location and we will check before quoting. If we can't legally fly it, we will say so.

How fast do you deliver northern Minnesota shoots?

The same as anywhere else. Edited photos arrive 24 to 48 hours after the flight, and edited video in 2 to 4 days.

Our packages are the same price everywhere: Aerial Essentials is $129 and Signature photo + video is $279. Travel is added at $1.25 a mile round trip, round trip, beyond 30 miles of St. Cloud.

Planning a Flight Up North

Timing matters more here than almost anywhere else in the state. Fall color usually arrives up north earlier than it does around St. Cloud, lake shots look best on a still morning, and a snow-covered shoot in January comes with short days and cold batteries. Tell us your deadline and we'll help you choose a date.

Some places can't be flown at all. National parks such as Voyageurs don't allow drone takeoffs or landings, and wilderness areas, state parks and tribal lands can have their own rules. We check your exact location first and tell you before you pay for anything.
